About

me&dietcoke

Hello! My name is Sarah, and this is my FOR REAL life. Sometimes I still need a good hard pinch to make sure I’m not dreaming.

Besides a wife, I am a mother to two boys who enjoys running, hiking, biking, and yoga whenever I can find the time. I enjoy living an active and healthy life, but love to splurge on the things that matter most, like diet coke, cookies, and New Girl.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In the beginning of 2008 I went on an 18 month religious mission to Donetsk, Ukraine. I can’t think of a better decision that I’ve made in life. I fell in love with service, the language, and culture. Long story short, I married a charming Ukrainian on October 29, 2010. I consider that to be the day that my “for real” life began. Stick around and you can read all about it.

  1. I was looking for blogs that mention hiking, and I happened upon your blog! I am also LDS and I served my mission in New Zealand. I’m living in Provo and going to BYU with my husband. My husband has two adopted sisters from Ukraine, although I don’t know where they lived while there, so I’m not sure if they were within your mission boundaries or not. I hope you don’t mind, but I’d love to follow your blog 🙂

    1. Yes! Looks like we are both starting this blog thing 🙂 and that’s neat about your husband’s family! I also have a niece that is adopted from Ukraine. If you ever find out where they were, we could see if there are any connections.

      1. Oh wow! I know that they lived right on the border of Ukraine and Russia, and they are ethnically Russian, and I think the city names starts with a G, but that’s all i know 🙂
