How We Wore It // Holiday Plaid

It’s very late, everyone. My brain isn’t working well enough to even know how to start this blog…so let’s just dive in. I’m doing another How We Wore It collaboration! Since the holidays are busy, Brooke combined November and December together for one Holiday edition.

Our inspiration for the look is this lovely girl:

Most of all, I liked Shanna’s ankle boots with the black dress and scarf. This is basically what I tried to do. Other than that, I wasn’t really into the cardigan and animal print jacket. They both offer a lot of texture to the look, so I do feel like mine is missing out on that feature, but I just wouldn’t have been comfortable adding it. I’m too simple.

Now for some super pictures of my outfit…with an explanation.

Liev, my 1 year old, is teething, coughing, and grumpy. So while he napped, Bonnie (my lifesaver) came over and snapped some photos in front of my garage door. Not the best background, however, I’m surrounded by constant construction and so it was the best we could do for my crazy mom life. Meanwhile, all the construction workers witnessed our fun photo shoot. Here is me trying to relax.

I used this blog post as an excuse to get myself that black dress I’ve been wanting for awhile, why not? I feel like this particular one is really easy to dress up or down depending on the occasion, as well as it is extremely comfortable. I would normally not put blue and black together, like I did with the scarf, but it’s what I had. It works. I’ve linked the shops where you can find it below.

I’ve been wearing some bar earrings daily (I have multiple pairs), but these circles seem to have taken their place this week. Love them! Again, details below.
